SurfAce Cleantech gets a Tech Seed loan and Healio, Nextrainers and Sharelock three Digital Grants

SurfAce Cleantech is reinventing compostable packaging and has been awarded a CHF 100,000 Tech Seed loan from FIT. Three other innovations each receive a CHF 20,000 Digital Grant, with their own specific objectives: simplifying healthcare staff planning at Healio, generating a football training session in less than a minute for Nextrainers, and structuring and analysing Due Digilence flows thanks to Sharelock.

SurfAce Cleantech: reinventing compostable packaging
Demand for compostable packaging is growing steadily worldwide, driven by two main factors. On the one hand, consumers are increasingly looking for sustainable solutions. On the other, regulatory measures are encouraging the use of biodegradable alternatives.

In a bioplastics market that is expected to double by 2030, the biodegradable plastics segment is experiencing the fastest growth. This is where SurfAce Cleantech is focusing its efforts, targeting precisely flexible and biodegradable packaging.

SurfAce Cleantech's innovation is based on a coating that increases the strength of compostable packaging films by 40%, while maintaining their performance and without hindering their compostability. Integrated directly during the packaging printing process, this innovation strengthens the films, reducing their thickness and thus lowering their production costs while facilitating their adoption by the market.

FIT is backing SurfAce Cleantech with a Tech Seed loan of CHF 100,000, which will be used to complete product development, conduct market testing, obtain certifications and fully patent the innovation.

Healio: a collaborative app for efficient healthcare staff scheduling
In the healthcare sector, team scheduling is a complex process that can be a source of dissatisfaction and is subject to several constraints, including operational needs, legal labour regulations and individual preferences.

Healio is developing a unique application dedicated to the healthcare sector, designed to simplify and streamline healthcare staff scheduling. Its innovation is based on a proprietary algorithm that has been pre-established through self-organisation and collaboration between teams. The system takes into account specific legal and institutional constraints, fair distribution and employee needs by eliminating conflicts, but above all by increasing the satisfaction of healthcare teams and managers.

The CHF 20,000 Digital Grant received from the FIT will enable Healio to develop the first version of the application and its web design.

Nextrainers: an app that generates a structured and effective football training session in less than a minute
Switzerland has 33,000 football coaches, 98% of whom are amateurs. As they do this alongside their day jobs, they often have little time to prepare their sessions, which leads to less structured training and lower motivation among both players and coaches.

The Nextrainers app provides a quick and easy-to-use solution for coaches. In less than a minute, it uses artificial intelligence to generate a complete training session that is fully adapted to the coach's real constraints: age of the players, training theme, size of the field, duration, etc.

With the support of the FIT through a CHF 20,000 Digital Grant, Nextrainers will transform its web application into a mobile application, improve the user experience, test different communication channels and experiment with new features.

Sharelock: streamlining due diligence with artificial intelligence
Due diligence, the detailed examination of a company before investment or financing, has traditionally been a time-consuming and demanding process for investors and their partners. Documents and communications are often fragmented and non-standardised, reflecting the diversity and complexity of today’s economic landscape.

Sharelock transforms this process into a structured and collaborative workflow powered by artificial intelligence and its proprietary architecture. Designed for private-market professionals, Sharelock analyses financial, legal, and ESG documentation to extract reliable, traceable data: accelerating decision making and strengthening trust among stakeholders.

With the CHF 20,000 Digital Grant awarded by the FIT, Sharelock is advancing its R&D, deepening collaborations with pilot investment funds, and preparing to bring its solution to market.
